Pastor Uptain has been at Grace Baptist Church for more than nine years. His vision for the church includes helping the church reach out to people of all ages and producing another generation of missionaries. His wife, Penelope, encourages the congregation to pray and maintain contact with home and foreign missionaries; and helps build the church with her teaching and professional skills. Both, Pastor and Penelope, enjoy reading Christian biographies and church history. It is their desire that each believer becomes better equipped to love God and enjoy His presence. Pastor is a graduate of Luther Rice Seminary. He believes that consistent Biblical teaching is essential to church growth. This preaching is enhanced by the use of conservative, traditional music that elevates the holiness and character of God. Grace Baptist is a small church, with a large heart of fellowship, desiring to build and strengthen believers in Christ Jesus.
